Also, please note that NONE of these programs require you to download anything to your computer, will not install any sort of spyware on your system, do not contain pop-up's, and will not ask you for sensitive personal information(you will need to provide at least some information in order to get paid, such as your PayPal address or mailing address if you opt for a check). In other words, these sites are completely safe to use.
PTS, PTC, PTR, etc
Paid-to-surf, paid-to-click, paid-to-read, and other similar sites are probably among the most common money makers on the internet. There are a lot of "fly by night" sites out there who ultimately fail to deliver(your earnings, that is), but there are also plenty of legitimate, established ones who pay out when they say they'll pay out. The following is a list of reputable sites where you can spend some time clicking to make yourself some extra $$$.
FUSIONCASH
FusionCash is a classic paid-to-click program that has been around for 4 years. I have been paid by this company. You are paid varying amounts for completing offers on the Offers page. Some offers are paid, but there are plenty of 100% free offers as well. You can also be paid $3/month for posting in the FusionCash forum(see details on FC homepage). Extremely easy to use site, highly recommended.
INBOXDOLLARS
InboxDollars is similar to FusionCash, and has been in business since 2000. Along with offering many of the same things FC offers, InboxDollars also offers paid-to-read emails, which are delivered right to your inbox. Simply click on the link provided in the email to receive your credit for reading. Very easy, very reliable program that sends out several paid emails a week(you can expect at least one a day, if not more). Also highly recommended.
CASHCRATE
CashCrate is yet another program similar to both FC and InboxDollars and has been around for about 3 years now. CashCrate also offers a helpful promotions center that gives you good ideas for getting referrals and promoting the site, which can in turn increase your earnings.
PAID TO WRITE
Are you an aspiring-- or even an established-- writer? These next sites are IDEAL for people like you and me, who love to write and would like to be paid for it. Don't pass these by, if you can write, and write well, these are exceptionally good opportunities!
HUBPAGES
HubPages is an excellent, easy to use site, and you can be set up and writing in a matter of minutes. Write as many articles(referred to as "hubs") as you can come up with-- your only limits are your imagination(and possibly time LOL). I absolutely LOVE this site, and it offers multiple revenue streams to pick from(choose whichever ones you want-- all or just one, it's totally up to you). This site is similar to Squidoo, but much easier to use.
SQUIDOO
Another excellent site for internet publishing, but has a bit of a learning curve to it and can be a bit confusing at first. Once you figure it out, it's actually very easy, but it may take some trial and error. If you want to use Squidoo, and run in to difficulties, feel free to ask me for assistance, I'd be happy to help. Squidoo offers multiple revenue streams(more than HubPages); you choose which ones you want to place on each of your "lenses"(articles). Make as many or as few lenses as you can come up with.
PLACES TO SELL TANGIBLE GOODS
If you need someplace to sell actual, physical items to help supplement your income or to de-clutter your house, or just because you want to, I recommend the following:
eBay
Most people are at least familiar with the eBay name. It's known as the place to go to find all manners of items, from antiques to rarities to new-in-box merchandise. Selling items on eBay is relatively simple, however, if you've never done it before you need to prepare yourself before you begin, as the sad reality is that A LOT can go wrong, especially in the current eBay climate. I created this guide to help new and veteran sellers alike, and I strongly recommend reading it before diving in to selling on eBay. Be advised that selling on eBay these days isn't for everyone, nor is it recommended you try to sell very high end/expensive/extremely rare/irreplaceable items there. Read my guide first, and also take some time and look at the eBay discussion boards(Seller Central is a good starting point).
BONANZLE
If eBay seems too troublesome, a strong worthwhile alternative is Bonanzle. This is a fairly new site, just launched in September 2008, but it has already established itself as one of the top alternatives to eBay(despite not offering an auction format... at least not yet). As the moment, it is free to list items for sale on Bonanzle and all listings are good until the item sells(or you remove it). You only pay if the item sells, and the fees are extremely reasonable. It's fast and easy to set up an account, so give it a try.
TRAFFIC GETTERS
Have the sites and needs the traffic? Try these!
LinkReferral
LinkReferral is great-- simply add your site to the directory, then log in and surf 30 sites, write 5 reviews, bookmark 1, and make a forum post! All of these actions are completely optional, you don't have to do any of them, but the more you participate, the higher your site will rank in the directory(which means better exposure for you!). LR is a HUGE traffic driver; if you're not using it, you're missing out!
EasyHits4U
Real 1:1 Traffic Exchange Ratio. No limits to surf and earn!
EasyHits4U doesn't have the best name around, but it's a stellar site that not only drives traffic, but also pays you $.30 per 1000 sites surfed, plus pays you for referrals. It's also very well designed and easy to navigate; definitely one of the top traffic exchange sites around.
ReallySmartDeals
ReallySmartDeals is a great traffic exchange programs that offers banner exchanges, text link exchanges, and direct surfing for hit credits. Free and easy to use, though this site offers A LOT of 'stuff', so it may appear a bit overwhelming. The owner of this site is very friendly, easy to contact, and quick to respond to your questions and concerns. Please note that RSD is only for sites offering tangible goods related to shopping(i.e. eBay stores, Bonanzle booths, individual websites with actual items for sale, etc). Offers paid options.
MyHitHut
Another traffic exchange, pretty basic deal. This site offers paid options, though they're not much needed as it's very easy to earn huge amounts of hit credits on this site as a free member.
TrafficSwarm
Also a traffic exchange, TrafficSwarm works slightly differently in that the traffic you receive is, ideally, more targeted than other TE programs. This is because surfers get to choose the category in which they surf, so they're able to pick out sites that are more appealing to them. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
RichPTC
Earn money by clicking ads AND exchange traffic. I'm still very new to this site, and am not convinced it's 100% legit, so use your best judgment for now.
